Havoc in the paddock
Rocket enthusiasts from around the world are invited to fly their rockets at the first international rocketry event in New Zealand hosted by the New Zealand Rocketry Association (NZRA).
Enjoy New Zealand's temperate summer climate, green fields and Kiwi hospitality. Fly up to 9,500ft out of our launch site standard waiver or book higher altitudes.
Our site is located one hour south of Auckland International Airport, 1hr north of the Lord of the Rings Hobbiton movie set, 2hrs from Rotorua with its geysers and mud-pools and 7 hours from Rocket Lab's Launch Complex 1 at Mahia.
Camping in the Paddock is included in the event pass from Thursday to Sunday. Motel accommodation is available within a 19 minute drive.
Havoc in the Paddock will feature a full scale replica Nike Smoke sounding rocket, standing over 6.5 meters (21'4") tall, 470mm (18.5") in diameter, and weighing over 150kg (330lb) at liftoff. Powered by a 200mm (8") diameter, "P" class motor with a special effects propellant developed specifically for the flight, it will be a sight to see!
